A University of East London (UEL) student has won £10,000 to start up his own business after the Dragons Den finale of UELs E-Factor Business Plan Competition, held at the Knowledge Dock Centre at UELs Docklands Campus on Wednesday 7 March.

Staff and students at the University of East London welcomed Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh for the official opening of UEL's new Business School and Knowledge Dock Centre on Friday 16 February.

Trade development for womens enterprise in London and around the world was the focus of a major conference held at the University of East London (UEL) Docklands Campus on Friday 6 October. Around 60 delegates, including High Commissioners and leading figures from the world of business, banking and finance, attended the event at the Knowledge Dock Centre.

An amphibian bike, a foot-and-toe cleaner and sing-along cutlery were among the innovative products that powered the East London Inventors Club (ELIC) to an impressive twelve medals at this years British Invention Show, the UKs premier showcase event for inventors held at Londons Alexandra Palace on 21 October.
