The Knowledge Dock Simlab, in partnership with Knowledge Dock Business Centre licensee Slider Studio, recently won £255,000 funding from the Urban Buzz Building Sustainable Communities fund to develop an innovative Enabled Self Procurement Simulation Programme (ESP-SIM) that is set to radically change the way communities are formed.

Despite the threat of rain, 120 clients and staff gathered at the Knowledge Dock Centre to celebrate 365 days of enterprise and innovation on 11th July 2007. It marked a very successful first year, one which saw the Queen herself visit UEL and one student awarded £10,000 at the culmination of the E-Factor competition, not to mention the many businesses thriving as a result of KDs services.

Eight enterprising UEL graduates are celebrating after being awarded £1,500 from the Haberdashers' New Entrepreneurs Fund, recently established to allow UEL students and graduates to develop innovative business ideas.
