Moving Curtains Case Study
30 March 2006
Actively one of the most forward-thinking and cutting-edge of residents in Knowledge Dock’s HotHatch facility, the company are not afraid to take full advantage of the support in their surroundings for pushing their projects further, having recently won the Jumpstart grant award by the London Development Agency alongside a growing relationship with the best of the University of East London (UEL)’s expertise.
With the support provided by the HotHatch environment, the company is currently well into developing a soft furnishing simulation software project, with help from both Knowledge Dock experts and members of UEL’s School of Computing and Technology.
Jean French of Moving Curtains was delighted to comment on the prospective shape of the project and of Knowledge Dock’s support: “Knowledge Dock has proved very useful for Moving Curtains. They have assisted in giving the company a strategy and direction. They have been successful in bringing together expertise within the University of East London that have commercial implications for Moving Curtains.”
With the Jumpstart grant in place to help commercialise their soft furnishing simulation software for both end users and industry professionals, Moving Curtains were certainly pleased with the hands-on support and personal attention that is so characteristic of a relationship with the HotHatch and its dedicated staff.
“We have always been pleased with the response we receive from Knowledge Dock and especially the attention afforded to us by Mr. Thorsten Klein [HotHatch manager], who has personally coordinated several aspects of the development of Moving Curtains.”
HotHatch manager Thorsten Klein was happy to share his experience in helping the company see their ideas into fruition: “Moving Curtains is a good example of the type of companies we support – they have ambitious projects and are 100% committed. This funding will get them a lot closer to their goal.”
When asked of how pleased they were with the results achieved with Knowledge Dock, Jean praised, “Most definitely!”
Always a company to move full-sail with the wind at their back, the company’s future is looking bright with opportunity as they extend their reach for the prospects to come.
