Manufactured Aggregates Research Centre
The Manufactured Aggregate Research Centre (MARC) enables large-scale feasibility testing to be carried out on aggregates that are formulated and manufactured using a wide variety of waste materials.
Harnessing the latest developments in the science and technology of thermal processing, MARC enables aggregates to be created from various combinations of resource materials. These can include residues from bio-degradable materials, municipal solid wastes, industrial and by-product ashes, reclaimed argillaceous and granular materials and demolition/construction-derived waste.
MARC’s processes can transform traditionally difficult and extremely costly waste into useful, safe and commercially viable aggregates. MARC has been designed to manufacture aggregates for high-performance applications, especially to satisfy legislation for eco-toxicity.
